Last weekend I had the privilege of driving a 2012 Kia Soul to Blog Cabin in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. Now, my Dad has a Kia Rondo, so I know how well these cars drive, but I have to admit, I fell in love with the little "Hamster Mobile." The Kia Soul is considered a "cross over" vehicle and gives you the best of both worlds the cargo capacity of a truck or SUV but the size and drive of a compact car. I was super impressed with the amount of luggage, swag, games, and food we were able to pack in the back of this little thing and still have visibility from all sides. I insisted on driving because Trisha is a nervous wreck on the road… and that was long before we got near the mountains. The Kia Soul drove very smooth and handled well on the interstate for hours at a time. The seats were comfy for the 10 hour trek… that we managed to stretch into about 14 hours. The push start ignition was awesome I have to admit I miss that part already. The gas mileage was also great…thank goodness because I actually FORGOT to gas up… We absolutely LOVED the Sirius Radio and built in USB ports to listen to iTunes on our phones. We literally rocked out the entire way there and back. And in case you are wondering, Trisha is a master at knowing the lyrics… but TERRIBLE with knowing the artists on anything Pre-Backstreet Boys…. There is tons of technical / mechanical information about the Kia Soul on the Kia Website, but mom-to-mom / woman-to-woman this little car rocks. I couldnt find a single thing I didnt like about it - except for maybe how hard it is to find in a parking lot in Pigeon Forge Tennessee when you are surrounded by pick up trucks twice its size. Being back in my car this week as much as I love my car I am missing the Kia Soul. Every time I go digging through my purse to find my keys, every time I wish I had a sunroof to open, every time there is nothing but commercials on the radio… I wish I was in the Hamster Mobile. Thank you again to Kia for letting Trisha and I drive the 2012 Kia Soul to our Brandcation Blog Cabin event. I absolutely loved it!
