Irvine-based Kia Motors America has partnered with HerHighway.com, a site dedicated to providing women with information about cars and driving, for a new campaign to raise awareness about breast cancer.

Kia will provide vehicles for Drive Breast Cancer Awareness, a national event created by HerHighway's editor-in-chief Christina Selter in 2011, after she was diagnosed with possible ALCL, a rare form of breast cancer. The campaign aims to raise awareness and remember those who lost to breast cancer.

"Kia is deeply committed to supporting HerHighway and the 'Drive Breast Cancer Awareness' event which delivers much-needed awareness towards a disease that affects approximately one in eight women in the United States," said Michael Sprague, Kia Motors America' executive vice president of marketing and communications.

The eight-day road trip will start in Los Angeles on Sept. 25 and end in New York City on Oct. 2, with stops along the way to educate others about breast cancer and the event.
